Sonia in the Washington Post!

Co-Coordinator Sonia Silbert wrote a letter to the Washington Post in response to an article claiming there was basically no peace and justice movement right now.  She defended our strong movement and called out the Post for not giving it the media coverage it deserves.

The letter was printed Saturday, October 4 - Read it here.  If you agree, write the Washington Post and tell them so!  You can write to letters@washpost.com

Also please support the work of the Peace Center so we can continue proving the Post wrong!

Sonia in the Washington

In ferocious agreement with Sonia are heroes of mine - Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky.

In ferocious disagreement with the three of you is myself. By all comparison with the commitment, heroism, dedication and courage evidenced in those TRUE movements, those that have changed history, THERE IS NO, NO PEACE MOVEMENT today. Never has what today calls itself a movement changed history. Never.

Why do I care to cite this? Because unless and until we face the fact that we are NOT an opposition of any hope, we deny ourselves the opportunity to BECOME a Movement that can save humankind.
