Night of Hip Hop and Rock Against Torture

Oct 22 2008 - 9:00pm
Oct 22 2008 - 11:59pm
Etc/GMT-4

The Bush administration has committed crimes against humanity. Time to hold them accountable.

Evil Empire, Washington DC's Rage Against the Machine Cover Band will be debuting several original songs and there will be a speaker from SOA Watch and the Center for Torture Accountability to talk about the US torture regime and what you can do about it. The night will be uplifting and inspiring, despite the darkness of the topic.

TortureAccountabilty.org will be a unique website dedicated to documenting the role that government officials have played in creating, enabling and concealing the Bush regime's torture program. We must not let those responsible be lost to history.

The website will be a research tool, an online database of perpetrators of crimes against a humanity. The database will include information about lawyers, politicians, psychologists and more. There is an ocean of information in the media now but no central repository to catch it all. TortureAccountability.org will change that.

Evil Empire goes on at 10.

Benefit (and launch party) for TortureAccountability.org. 21+.

The Center for Torture Accountability is a project of the Washington Peace Center.

Full disclosure: Evil Empire's lead vocalist is the founder and current director of the Center for Torture Accountability.
