Say NO to Nuclear Expansion on the Chesapeake Bay!
Currently, the Examiner for the State of Maryland Public Service Commission is reviewing evidence prior to making a decision on an application filed by UniStar (Constellation Energy) for the construction of a new 1710 MW nuclear reactor. If built, this reactor would join two existing reactors at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant on the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County.
The Chesapeake Safe Energy Coalition opposes the construction of a new, double-size, EPR experimental design reactor on the basis that nuclear power is “costly” to Marylanders. In addition to being expensive, nuclear power is not a healthy, safe, clean, or green solution to satisfying Maryland’s energy needs.
Join concerned citizens in saying NO to more nuclear power at a legal, peaceful protest!
