THE WORLD ARTS INSTITUTE is a non profit educational institute that promotes arts and culture as a way of extending our understanding of ourselves and each other. The World Arts Institute offers educational writing programs for schools and universities such as “Writing Around My World,” “Plugging the Holes in History, “Herstory: A Womanist Perspective” and others. WAI also offers arts programs, includes theatre programs for children (“Our Heroes, Our Stars,” “Mid Summer Night’s BLING,” “The Kwanzaa Story,” and others), Music Workshops that employ instruments from around the world, and Dance Workshops using dance and song from West Africa.
WAI, in conjunction with the KhaYUMbia Entertainment Network, also features live music from World Artists such as KhaYUMbia (Peace. Poetry. Music), Ruel (New Age Gospel/Soul), Queens of Earth (Dance) and Blacknez (Conscious Hip Hop Artists). WAI and KEN are available to produce shows and programs as well as providing artists for performances at festivals and other events.
