Visions in Feminism was started in 2000 by an independent grassroots group of activists, with the intent to create a low-cost, accessible conference for people of all races, ages, genders and experiences to come together to discuss some of the most complex issues facing modern feminism. We held our first conference on May 6, 2001. Since then we have worked to make our annual conference an event that addresses social, political and cultural implications of feminism and develops tools to create an ongoing network of dialogue and action. We also host a variety of events throughout the year such as benefit concerts, film screenings, panel discussions, etc.
