VENCEREMOS BRIGADE is a work brigade that has been traveling to Cuba for over 30 years.  We perform volunteer work because it creates and genuine connection between brigadistas and the Cuban people.  Helping to build schools, hospitals, apartments, as well as agricultural work year after year, the Brigade has made it clear that we support Cuba’s revolution as the Cubans define it.

VENCEREMOS BRIGADE seeks to overcome the U.S. blockade that separates the people from the United States from the people of Cuba.  The Brigade sponsors an annual Contingent that travels to Cuba while actively participating in the struggle for social justice in this country.  The Contingents draw a diverse array of activists from all across the United States.  Both multi-racial and multi-generational, each trip includes women and men who represent workers, youths, senior citizens, the disabled, community organizations, anti-racist and anti-sexist groups, the peace and solidarity movements, and the religious. The focus of each trip is a work project where brigadistas labor

alongside Cubans in agriculture, construction, and other sectors.  Also included are visits to sites of interest and discussions with diverse representatives of Cuban society.  The brigade experience helps bring an internationalist perspective to the US progressive movement.
