The DOROTHY DAY CATHOLIC WORKER  is a religious community committed to upholding the sacredness of all life and resisting the forces of violence and death.  The DDCW provides hospitality for homeless families and is involved in nonviolent actions for peace, disarmament and social justice.  Holds weekly peace vigils at the Pentagon (now in its 14th year) each Monday from 7-8:00
a.m. and at the White House each Friday from 12-1:00 p.m. to call for an end to the 11-year US war against Iraq.  Also conducts a vigil on the second Thursday of each month at the Israeli Embassy from 12-1:00 p.m. to call for the release of imprisoned anti-nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu, an
end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and for justice and peace for Palestinians and Israelis.
