The African American Women's Resource Center, Inc., founded in 1996, is a non-profit organization established to provide social and cultural activities, support programs and access to resources that inform, educate and empower girls and women of the African Diaspora and their communities. The Resource Center is also a clearinghouse and referral source for information on policies, programs, and literary discourse on issues impacting women of the African Diaspora as well as a clearinghouse for information about women of the African Diaspora. Our latest project is a grassroots community based program to develop leadership skills and educational empowerment of girls between the ages of 11 and 15. This project is called "We are the Ones!"
